Make an appointment in 3 steps. Step 1: Select a staff member. Step 2: Select an available date. Step 3: Select an available timeslot. Research Consultations are one-on-one or small group meetings with a librarian.
Meet with a librarian for assistance with:
Narrowing a topic
Locating sources on a topic
Identifying appropriate databases in your subject area
Evaluating sources for reliability and credibility
Searching the web for reliable information
Citing sources in-text and on a reference page
When booking your appointment you must enter your UNA email address, i.e., firstname.lastname@example.org
Note: Appointments can be conducted face to face in Collier Library or online (virtually).Virtual appointments are conducted using Zoom. For these appointments you will be sent a separate link via your una.edu email address for the consultation. You will need a speaker and a microphone for the online appointment. A webcam is optional.
If you need an online appointment select "Online Appointment via Zoom" as the Appointment Location on the scheduling form.
How to join a Zoom meeting for Virtual Research Consultations
To use Zoom:
Check your UNA Portal Email for a link to the Zoom meeting.
Follow the instructions in the email to log in to the meeting.
Note: You will need to join the meeting from a device that have a microphone and speakers; a webcam is optional. We will be using screen sharing during our meeting, so please close any documents or browsers that may contain sensitive information before joining the meeting.
