Items may be returned at the Help Desk when the library is open. When the library is closed, patrons may use the book return located at the entrance of the library or the drive-up book return located in Lot A by the Visitor’s Welcome Booth. All items returned via the book drops after closing are accepted as returned on the day last opened.

Undergraduate & Graduates:
When an item has passed a 30-day period as overdue, it will be classified as lost and a bill will be charged to the patron’s library account or a transcript hold may be placed in Banner. The patron is responsible for observing the date due for the item. All university students are responsible for the cost of replacement for damaged or lost library materials.
Faculty & Staff (Including Emeritus):
When an item has passed a 30-day period as overdue, it will be classified as lost and a bill will be charged to the patron’s library account. The laptop vending machine is available on the ground floor of Collier Library. Laptops are available for check out to University of North Alabama students, faculty, and staff for up to 3 hours. Borrowers must have their Mane Card to borrow from the machine.
Borrowers are responsible for all replacement costs and processing fees if the laptop or its accessories are lost, damaged, or stolen. The replacement cost is $1,750. Replacement fees are assumed if the laptop is not returned at the close of the borrowed day, and will be present on the borrower's account at opening the next day.
