Accessing Full-text Outside of Library Databases

The boxes below describe how to set your Google Scholar settings to link to subscription library content, as well as how to download the browser extensions, LibKey Nomad and Lean Library. Setting up one or more of these will help you access more full-text content outside the library's databases in places such as PubMed, Google, and Google Scholar.

Google Scholar - Set up Library Links

Google Scholar

  • Go to https://scholar.google.com
  • Click the three lines at the top left of the screen
  • Click "Settings"
  • Click "Library Links"
  • In the search box type "University of North Alabama" and click search
  • Check the box for "University of North Alabama Libraries - Check for FullText @UNA"
  • Click "Save"

Browser Extension - LibKey Nomad

LibKey Nomad

  • Go to https://thirdiron.com/downloadnomad/
  • Click "Get LibKey Nomad Now"
  • Select your Browser
  • When prompted, click "Add to _____"
  • Select "University of North Alabama" as your organization
  • When searching sites like PubMed and Google you will now see icons for downloading full text or access options that will link you to our content or Interlibrary Loan.
